A fully qualified chef operates, within the College, a fully functioning restaurant, Three Trees. The restaurant and hospitality training facility offers students qualifications in Certificate II in Kitchen Operations and Certificate III Hospitality. The courses are supported by staff with years of experience in industry at the highest levels and in partnership with prominent restaurants, catering/event management organisations and external Registered Organisations.
The student teams have consistently won accolades in the Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge and Barista Competitions including a Silver and Bronze Medallion. The program offers students the chance to attend industry training programs including the LIVET Royal Pines Immersion Program.
The students receive training in the 'Responsible Service of Alcohol' as well as skill training in the classroom. Restaurant openings are advertised on the '3 Trees Restaurant and Cafe' Facebook page. Please like our page to receive restaurant notifications. We would sincerely like to thank our College community for the continuous and ongoing support of 3 Trees Restaurant and Cafe and our Hospitality classes in general. Certificate students cater and serve for a range of events from Leadership morning teas, ANZAC days, Calamvale Business Breakfasts, Principal dinners (with 70 Principals and Deputy Principals in attendance) and the weekly restaurant, morning cafe and Friday lunch cafe. The 3 Trees Restaurant and Cafe' is open every Wednesday night to the public during Terms 2 and 3.
