Calamvale Community College hosts International Study Tours and we are always looking for families interested in being a host family for our International Study Tours.
Study Tours can be a 1 day tour or 1 to 4 week visit. These students are visiting our College to improve their English language and to experience our culture, including Australian family life. This is a fantastic experience for both our school and host families alike.
Visiting students will attend College classes with a school buddy. During the day they will attend English classes and then join into integrated learnings.
As they spend each evening during their stay with your family, they are required to have their own bed either in their own room, in a bedroom with another visiting student or in your child’s bedroom.
The visiting students also attend excursions organised by the College and/or study tour Agent during their stay which may occur outside of school hours e.g. Movie World excursion on a Saturday 8.30am till 5.pm. You are only expected to drop and collect your homestay student from Calamvale Community College.
Tama Meguro Study Tour
CCC is fortunate to have annual repeat visitors from Tama Meguro who spend an energetic day in our College. 2023 was the 13th visit by the Japanese school with over 1,000 Japanese students and 800 CCC students participating in these activities since the start of this program with Tama Meguro.
During their tour, they participate in a range of cultural and sporting activities. The Japanese students were hosted by the Wolves 32 students of CCC. Activities included a dance performance of Cotton Eye Joe (over 200 students performing), pilates, king ball and rock painting, along with First Nations Welcome & Farewell ceremonies.
