All VET certificates are competency based. Data contributing towards competency will be collected throughout the duration of the courses by the process of collecting evidence and making judgements on a student’s demonstration and application of knowledge and skills to the standard of performance required in a work place. This process allows a student’s competency to be assessed in a holistic approach that integrates a range of competencies.
VET Certificates:
Can contribute towards a QCE.
Are nationally recognised qualifications
Can lead to higher VET qualifications and other training or apprenticeships
Students who achieve competency in all Units of Competency will receive the full certificate. Students who do not complete all Units of Competency will obtain a Statement of Attainment (for each certificate) outlining the Units of Competency successfully completed over the course of study.
The QCE is recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and this may give advanced standing towards a traineeship or apprenticeship and/or credit on entry to higher level courses at TAFE institutes and other registered organisations.
