Welcome to College Sport
The College takes pride in its past and current sporting success and it is an expectation that all our students access available opportunities within the sporting arena to develop the necessary skills and fitness to achieve their potential. Within our busy College sporting calendar, all students can access many opportunities to assist in their personal growth, experience and values as young athletes. Students can begin to specialise in their sporting experiences to enhance and facilitate pathway direction in future representative sport.
Sporting carnivals
The tradition of the inter-house rivalry continues, as the four College houses in ‘Cobar’ green, ‘Boree’ red, ‘Tharah’ yellow and ‘Keera’ blue compete over our tradition yearly carnivals of Swimming (early Term 1, late term 4), Cross Country (late Term 1), and Athletics (late Term 2 and early Term 3). College house points and bragging rights are up for grabs, along with the opportunity for students to be age champions and to make individual selection for the College to represent District Carnival Teams.
Representative sport opportunity
Calamvale Community College Secondary School Sport is positioned in the Karawatha School Sport District, which operates a full sporting calendar across a range of sporting opportunities. Building on from these opportunities students also have access to trial for Metropolitan-West Region trials, which provides access to QLD and potential National school sporting competitions and squads.
