At Calamvale Community College, we're known for educating the global generation.  The IB gives students distinct advantages by building their critical thinking skills, nurturing their curiosity and their ability to solve complex problems.  The IB provides the curriculum in which our community can see themselves and through which they can see the rest of the world.

Our broad cultural diversity brings a very substantial capability and opportunity for language, be it bilingualism or multilingualism amongst our students and the wider community.  We are a state school of 2500 students Prep to Year 12 offering IB PYP and Diploma programs but with MYP candidacy, we hope to be an IB Continuum School by the end of 2023.  We have one of the highest levels of enrolments of international students choosing to study with at our College from across Asia.

Our youngest learners harness their curiosity in an Inquiry Classroom and discover that they are curious an, creative and clever from an early age. Our College provides university and vocational pathways with outstanding results for student achievement and placement beyond Year 12.  Students study the Diploma of Business and have access to a range of Excellence Programs including Hospitality and the Wolves Sports Team.  We offer a wide range of language opportunities from Mandarin Immersion Prep to Year 2; Mandarin as LOTE from Prep through to Year 8 and opportunities to study French and Japanese from Year 5.  The IB Diploma program offers English, Mandarin and Spanish as language acquisition courses.

Calamvale Community College is an IB World School authorised to deliver two IB Programmes:

  • Primary Years Programme (PYP) – for students aged 5 to 11 years (Prep to Year 6)
  • Diploma Programme – for students in Years 11 to 12 (15-18 years)

At CCC our vision is to develop a student-centric continuum of learning.  CCC is also an MYP Candidate school.

The IB philosophy strongly aligns with the College's vision and focus of creating a better world through education by fostering the cross-cultural awareness and international mindedness of its students, connecting students with the global community and building curious, creative and critical thinkers.

The IB Diploma and Primary Years Programme facilitate Calamvale Community College to further become a 'College of Choice' where students are afforded the opportunity to explore their interests and strengths to bolster their academic and future career trajectory – whether this includes performing on stage, creating artistic works, speaking other languages, excelling in the sciences, or applying cutting-edge technologies.

At the core of the IB philosophy is the focus on developing learners.  The IB Learner profile comprises ten attributes that can help individuals and groups to thrive and make a difference by becoming responsible members of local, national, and global communities:
