The Design Thinking Process, a human-centred, iterative process that designers use to tackle problems, underpins everything students do in each Technologies Strand at CCC.
In the Middle Years Program (MYP), Technologies is actually referred to as 'Design'. In Years 7 and 8, students experience the 4 strands of Design on offer each year, including: Design Technologies, Digital Technologies, Food Technologies and STEM (Science, Technologies, Engineering & Maths).
In Year 9, students can choose a Design elective, which runs for a semester, continuing to develop their interests and applying the foundational skills learnt in Years 7 & 8 to set a solid foundation for Senior Secondary offerings.
Year 9 electives include:
- Design Technologies,
- Food Technologies,
- Digital Technologies (as eSports); and
- STEM
