Students studying senior humanities subjects are often exposed to a variety of learning experiences such as excursions, incursions, and debates.
The humanities and social sciences focus on the development of critical and creative thinking skills that students can apply in a wide variety of areas of interest and careers. The knowledge, skills and attitudes that students develop in in each of the available courses provide a meaningful foundation for further study and help to prepare students to work in academia, in non-governmental and governmental organizations, non-profit organizations and business and industry.
Some key career clusters that are associated with disciplines in Individuals and Societies include:
- economics, finance and financial analysis
- business, management and administration
- education and training
- government and public administration
- law and public safety
- human services
- marketing, sales and service
- international development
- travel and tourism
- cultural affairs
- urban and regional planning
- sustainability, conservation, and environmental management.
