“The IBDP builds students’ inquiring mindset, fosters their desire to learn, and prepares them to excel at their careers and lead meaningful lives.” (IBO 2022)
The International Baccalaureate was introduced in 1968 with an original purpose of facilitating the international mobility of students through a curriculum and qualification that is recognised by universities around the world.
The IB Diploma Programme is a select-entry course for students entering Year 11. The philosophy of IB in senior secondary emphasises a breadth and depth of learning with students selecting subjects across a range of groups as outlined in the models below. At CCC we are proud of our subject options and our commitment to supporting students in the development of their mother tongue with a range of languages available. These include English and Chinese, as well as school supported languages such as Korean and Vietnamese as well as the ongoing development of English, with many of our students obtaining bilingual diplomas.
Among the many benefits, the IB Diploma offers our students is the opportunity to experience the diversity of university-style studies. As well, students will undertake components of the IB Core, a unique underpinning of learning that sets students apart from their peers and provides challenge and a set of higher-order and employability skills highly desired by universities and employers alike.
